The war of
Iran with US by proxy |
Another
problem the US is facing is Iran and its nuclear ambitions. No
doubt that Iran is fast tracking the making of the atom bomb. In
the region Iran has no enemy to justify the possession of a
nuclear bomb but the Israel.
Iran's neighbors are
not an immediate threat. Although Pakistan has a nuclear
capability but it is not meant to use against Iran, India and
Pakistan have had problems since 1948 when they were separated.
Pakistan is not a threat to Iran, the other neighbors don't have
a nuclear capability. The only reason to have a nuclear bomb is
to use against a powerful enemy, in Iran's case Israel. But why
is Israel is the enemy in the first place?
Iran had a good
relationship with Israel until 1979 when Shah was removed from
power by Americans and mullahs were brought in by British. In
the heat of the cold-war Shah was not able to stop communism
from spreading south from the Soviet Union. Religion is always
the best tool to fight bunch of infidels, so Shah was out and
mullahs in. But mullahs did not just come to stop the communism,
they had their own agenda. To convert the world to Islam.
Every dictatorship in
the world needs to have at least two enemies: one domestic, and
one foreign; more is better. Domestic enemy is for showing to
people constantly who was the regime they were under before or
who will be in if they are gone; it is good to blame some of the
domestic problems to the regimes in the past or the guy who
wants to come in power in the future.
Foreign enemy is to
give direction and steer towards a target when a foreign policy
collapses. to run a dictatorship you always need to have some
one to blame.
When mullahs came to
power in 1979 they set an agenda and said in war between Arabs
and Israel we support Arabs. Since 1400 years ago and the
constant attack by Arabs to Iran, Iranians have no interest in
Arab world. Although the culture, language, art, architect, and
many more influenced by Arabs; Iranians were at no position to
choose between Arabs and Israelis. During the Shah's reign,
Iranians became very patriotic and nationalistic. Suddenly by
toppling over Shah and bringing mullahs, Iranians were not at a
position to support Arabs against anyone.
If mullahs of Iran
were too supportive of Moslems in against suppression, they
would have openly supported Chechnya's Moslems against Russians
the way they do it with Palestinians and Israel. Mullahs are
supporting Chechens un-openly.
Through religion
Iranians were told Israel is enemy and must fight with. Over
night Israel became number one enemy before US did. So there
goes the enemies a dictatorship needs to have, Shah the domestic
enemy and Israel the foreign enemy.
After the collapse of
cold-war it was time to make changes to the region, but US was
busy with other problems and British had no problem of mullahs
to be in power. British have always interfered with changing
Iran's leadership, Americans have arrived in past 50 years or so
to influence other countries. The presence of British in Iran
and their influence in changing government goes back about 400
years when they unsuccessfully tried to colonies Iran.
Now, failed to get
them off the power, mullahs have decided to go a different way
and become superpower in the region in the absence of leadership
in US and the disagreements with the British over the future of
Iran. The leadership in US failed to recognize the role of Iran
in Afghanistan and Iraq. Iran played a critical role in giving a
safe passage to Taliban members to execute their plans on
September 11. Mullahs also gave a safe haven to Taliban when
they escape US attacks in Afghanistan.
In Iraq mullahs gave
Saddam a safe place to store his WMDs, and supported Sadr and
his followers to attack US solders. Although British sorted the
problem in Najaf with Sadr for the moment, but Fallujah seems a
new battleground for mullahs to fight Americans by proxy. Sadr,
Abu Mosab Al-Zarqawi, and many more alike are proxies used by
mullahs to fight Americans. Iran needs to create these
distractions for Americans so it can continue to produce a
nuclear bomb.
It is now clear that
in 4 to 6 months time Israel will attack Iran and bomb its
nuclear sites. The reelection of Bush has paved the way for
Israelis to take a rather prevocational approach towards Iran
and Palestinians.
Such attack like those
we witnessed in Afghanistan and Iraq will not happen in Iran,
but US is determined to make some changes in this region. How
drastic the changes would be and if they would result in
government changes in Iran would depend on agreement between the
US and Britain. British want for long-term benefits to keep
mullahs in Iran, and US needs to end the problem in Iraq and
have a stronger foothold in region.
When Americans accept
the fact that they are indirectly at war with Iran and it is the
mullahs that are causing problem in Iraq depends on how deep
Americans want to get involved in Iran and how they agree with
British over Iran. It is essential for the US to end the
problems in Iraq, the road to that target passes through Iran.
The answer remains with mullahs and their future. British,
Germans, and French are in favor of keeping them in power; but
Americans want them out. How the deals are done and how
satisfactory the negotiations are will determine the future of
mullahs.
To remain in power, it
is very much possible to give bribes such as contracts or offer
cheap oil to the main players similar to those Saddam gave on
last days of his reign to Russians, French, and Germans. How
long mullahs will remain depends on US and British. British
believe by stopping Iran from achieving a nuclear power they can
bring peace into region and show mullahs that they are serious,
using possibly Israel to destroy Iran's nuclear sites.
Americans want a
quick-fix they want an end in violence in Iraq, and they can
achieve it by fixing the problem with mullahs. In some areas and
short-term solution probably British and Americans have some
common grounds, but when it comes to a long-term solution they
are far from each other. Perhaps British think if there is a war
between Israel and Iran they would benefit, as they did in
Kuwait. When Saddam destroyed Kuwait and the Kuwait City who did
those rich Arabs turned into to buy everything from bricks,
nails, cement, to other structural products? If Iran or Israel
are destroyed in someway, both countries will need to rebuild,
and who is going to sell them what they need? British of course.
What ever the decision
will be it will hurt the Iranians no matter what. I mullahs are
to remain in power it is the people will suffer under their
dictatorship; and if they are to go, they won't go easily. They
will fight to stay as Saddam did, as Taliban did. The future
changes will scar innocents. We hope whatever the changes are
they be quick.
